A downloaded MP3 can play through headphones or speakers that work with your device. The choice changes what you hear, particularly when a recording uses separate left- and right-channel audio.
When stereo separation matters
Binaural beats use different tones for the left and right ears. Stereo headphones preserve that separation. A mono setting or a single speaker combines the channels, so it won't reproduce the same binaural presentation.

Can I listen with one earbud?
A single earbud can play audio, but what you hear depends on the device. It may play one stereo channel or combine both. If some speech or music is only in the missing channel, you won't hear that part.
For ordinary playback with one earbud, check your device's mono-audio setting. On iPhone, Mono Audio plays the same content on both sides. This changes the stereo presentation. It does not preserve the separate tones required for a binaural beat, and raising the volume cannot replace the missing ear.
For ordinary playback
Choose equipment that plays the file clearly at a comfortable volume. With speakers, consider anyone else in the room and keep the sound suitable for the setting. Headphones are a practical option when you want to listen privately.
Check your device's left-right balance and mono-audio setting if one side seems missing. Try another familiar stereo recording to find out whether the issue also affects other audio.
